EDUCATION
Earned while raising five kids.
Amber completed her B.A. in Business and Psychology in December 2025, at age 34, while raising five children. It came after years of hands-on work, not instead of it: house cleaning around age 12, service-industry jobs by 15, and caregiving in a nursing home by 17.
GRANTS & AGRICULTURE
Building a farm from the ground up.
Amber and Michael co-founded Our Family Farms TX, a first-generation raw-milk herdshare dairy. Amber was awarded the Texas Department of Agriculture's Young Farmer Grant for 2025–2026, and the farm is participating in a UTRGV agrivoltaics initiative under an executed agreement. She also applied for a USDA Value-Added Producer Grant, with that outcome still pending.
NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP
More than board meetings.
Amber's nonprofit work has included governance, financial oversight, fundraising, and communications. She has organized fundraisers, helped launch email, direct-mail, and text campaigns, and participated in high-level board decision-making.
PUBLIC ADVOCACY
Experience speaking in formal Texas proceedings.
She has spoken both in favor of and against matters during judicial sessions at the Texas level, experience that required preparation, a clear position, and participation in formal decision-making processes.
COMMUNITY & PUBLIC-MONEY WORK
Experience with grants and government-funded projects.
Beyond her own farm's grant work, Amber has direct experience navigating grants and government-funded projects, the same kind of process the city relies on for infrastructure and community funding.
She's also led the review of Los Fresnos's 298 codes and ordinances, researched city finance and public records, and pushed for consistent, lawful enforcement of the rules already on the books, the same scrutiny she'd bring to the city's budget as mayor.

This campaign is being run the way Amber runs everything else, in person. She's block walking neighborhoods herself, asking residents what's working, what isn't, and what matters to them, and keeping track of it so nothing gets lost. Her first campaign meet-and-greet was held on September 5, 2026.
