Privacy Policy

We believe you should know what information this website may collect, why we collect it, and what choices you have.

Effective September 10, 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by the Amber Arriaga for Mayor campaign ("the campaign," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through this website and through forms or other features linked from it.

2. Information you choose to provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide when you contact the campaign, submit a form, request a yard sign, volunteer, ask for follow-up, host or attend an event, or otherwise communicate with us. Depending on the form, that information may include your name, neighborhood, email address, phone number, message, volunteer interests, sign request, event interest, photos or files you choose to upload, and other information you choose to share.

Please do not submit sensitive information that is not necessary for the reason you are contacting us.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics or security services we use may automatically receive limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate date and time of access. This information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and understand use of the website.

4. Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

The site or services used to host it may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functions, security, preferences, or analytics. If we add third-party analytics, advertising, or embedded social-media tools, those providers may collect information under their own privacy policies. You can control many cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

5. How we use information

We may use information we collect to:

  • respond to questions, concerns, or requests;
  • coordinate volunteers, events, neighborhood conversations, and yard-sign requests;
  • send campaign communications that you have requested or agreed to receive;
  • maintain campaign records and improve our outreach and website;
  • protect the security and integrity of the website and campaign systems; and
  • comply with applicable legal, regulatory, reporting, or recordkeeping obligations.

6. Text messaging and SMS consent

If a form gives you the option to consent to campaign text messages, that consent is separate from merely providing your phone number. Providing a phone number by itself does not enroll you in recurring campaign text messages unless the form clearly says otherwise and you affirmatively agree.

If you opt in, you may receive recurring campaign-related text messages at the number you provide. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service or making any contribution.

  • Reply STOP to opt out of future campaign text messages.
  • Reply HELP for help or additional information.
  • Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent records will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional use. We may share information with service providers that help us deliver messages or operate the campaign, but only as reasonably necessary to provide those services or as required by law.

7. When we may share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to vendors or service providers that help us operate the website, forms, email, texting, canvassing, data storage, security, or campaign administration. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, reporting obligations, or to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of our systems.

8. Public comments and third-party platforms

If you interact with the campaign on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, another social network, or another third-party service, the information you share there is also governed by that platform's privacy practices. Information you post publicly may be visible to others. Links from this website to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not make those sites part of this Privacy Policy.

9. Data retention

We may keep information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, for campaign administration and recordkeeping, to comply with applicable law, or to resolve disputes. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and legal requirements.

10. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information under our control. No website, storage system, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

11. Children's privacy

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us so we can review the request.

12. Your choices

You may ask us to stop contacting you or to update information you previously provided. For text messages, reply STOP to the message. For other requests, use the contact form. We may need to retain certain information when required for legal, compliance, security, or recordkeeping purposes.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the website, campaign, technology, or applicable requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.

14. Contact us

Questions or requests about this Privacy Policy can be sent through the campaign contact form.
